After researching a variety of sheds, flat packs, and prefabricated options, Cassie knew she wanted a structure that combined high-quality materials with style. "I did a lot of research and even visited the SheShed display site in the Blue Mountains to explore the different models,” she shared.

which was a big plus for maximising natural light.”
The wide double doors and numerous tilt and turn windows means the Alpine cabin makes for a very welcoming work environment and perfectly aligned with Cassie's vision for a space that combines functionality and aesthetics.
When it came to buying and building her SheShed, Cassie says the SheShed team provided all the support she needed to ensure a smooth process. "The team was fantastic, answering my questions and accommodating a tight delivery timeline. I even received a recommendation for an experienced builder, Eric, who knew exactly what to do!" Having a recommended builder ensured the cabin was erected quickly and professionally, leaving her free to focus on the fun part - interior styling.
Unsurprisingly, building on an uneven block did bring a few challenges, including the need for excavation and the construction of some retaining walls but despite this, the construction proceeded smoothly, even with Melbourne’s (Australia) winter weather adding an extra layer of difficulty. “Despite the weather, we got it done, and I’m thrilled with the result!”
For Cassie, the Alpine Cabin was always meant to serve as a dual-purpose space – with one side a dedicated home office, and the other a lounge area for relaxation. The interior design reflects her minimalist, classic style, with a black-and-white colour scheme and raw, natural elements that offer a timeless, cohesive look.
“The left side of the cabin is all business,” she explains, “with my desk strategically positioned between two windows for natural light.” The ability to customise the window placement was particularly valuable, allowing her to create a well-lit, comfortable workspace.
On the right side of the cabin, she created a cozy relaxation area with carefully chosen furniture that fits perfectly within the cabin. "I even included a sideboard from my family home, which was in storage until now. It’s wonderful to find a spot for it again,” she shares. Painting the cabin in the same colour scheme as the main house also made it feel like a natural extension of the property, blending style and comfort seamlessly.
Cassie's family and friends were quick to share their admiration for the space. “Everyone loves it, and they’re amazed by how spacious it feels inside,” she says. The clever design, including high ceilings and ample windows, creates an open and airy environment. Many are also impressed with how quickly the cabin was completed, from construction to the final styled look.
The SheShed Alpine Cabin has been a game-changer for her work-life balance. Having a separate, dedicated workspace provides a clear boundary between work and home life, helping her remain focused and distraction-free.
"I wish we had done this sooner," she reflects.
“I can’t imagine life without the SheShed now - it’s only been three months since completion, but it’s made a lasting difference.”
By moving her workspace out of the main house, Cassie has been able to create a productive, serene environment that supports her professional and personal needs.
