The SheShed Blog

Our much loved Star Cabin has been reinvented! Introducing the Star Summit by SheShed, a sleek new modern cabin in our most popular 3x3m Nordic Spruce kitset size. It's been redesigned with all the features you love from our Star Cabin, plus some new ones that add a new modern look to fit in with your property and extra durability with the new “Summit” style roof.

Whether you are looking to extend your property for family to stay or looking at adding extra income with added accommodation in your backyard. Adding a guest bedroom or backyard retreat, to your home can be simple with our SheShed Tussock Range.

There's no doubt about it, a pool house is the perfect way to enjoy your summer days and nights. Whether you're relaxing on the deck or taking a dip in the pool, a pool house adds an extra level of luxury to your backyard.

Our SheShed flatpack kitset cabins are the perfect way to add extra living space to your home, or create a backyard office, or finally get that dedicated hobby workspace. But what if you need a bathroom or kitchen?

Occasionally our customers will ask us what they should expect in terms of costs for hiring a builder for their flatpack kitset shed, so, we thought we’d make a guide, and here it is!

Emily created a beautiful work-from-home floral studio using our 3x3m Star Cabin kitset. Being able to create from her own space, has created more structured time for work and spending time with her young family.

“It's created a space for me to be free and have fun with my work. I can leave the mess till the end of the day and not worry. I can display all my beautiful creations and number one I can have people in my space to talk flowers where they feel like it's an actual shop and not my home.”

Adding solar power to your SheShed is a clever choice for providing low-cost renewable energy to your kitset shed for the next twenty-plus years. Solar is low maintenance, generates no carbon emissions, and saves money on your electricity connection and monthly power bills.

In this week’s SheShed Business Spotlight, we chat to Upholstress Lisa McGregor.

A wooden studio perfectly perched, looking out to the vines and rolling hills of the beautiful Upper Moutere in Tasman. Lisa built her SheShed Lake Cabin as a studio next to their family home, to run her business Boho Velvet Upholstery, where she hosts regular classes, and works on divine custom furniture pieces.

We love to hear how our She Shed customers are using their cabins. From all the little details of the shed build, to what they are loving about their new space and how they are using it today; This week we chat to Lisa from Waves Hair Salon this week about running her business from home with a young family, creating her vision, working with an interior designer and all the details behind building her dream salon.

This month we are excited to see SheShed featured in the August edition of the Nelson Magazine featuring Mark & Loni's Black Barn home office, Lisa's stunning Waves Hair Salon, and with a little bit about the story of how SheShed first began.

If you're just starting to build your SheShed cabin kitset or have been using it for a while and want to add power, this blog post is for you. Power is great for helping your home office, studio or guest house, become a functional and beautiful space to use.

It is no secret that our Star Cabin is our most popular style in our SheShed kitsets. One of our original cabin styles with beautiful double-glazed French doors and lovely pitched roof, the star cabin has both a rustic country feel, yet can be adapted to sit nicely within a more modern or contemporary styled property.
